Seven years ago we introduced our most popular seasonal coffee blend ever – half Bali, half Sumatra. The extraordinarily distinctive coffee that tastes just like a fresh strawberry dipped in dark chocolate. If you haven’t experienced this explosively flavorful cup, we strongly suggest you treat yourself this season. In this blend, the Bali is lightly roasted to emphasize complexity and fruitiness while the Sumatra is roasted dark to enhance its bold notes and full body. This Sumatra comes from a women-run Ketiara cooperative that has over 890 passionate and committed grower-members. They work together in support of coffee production, which has enabled Ketiara to expand and become an important supplier to larger coffee traders in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. The Kintamani highlands, where most coffee is grown, sits atop a large volcanic plateau. Coffee tree varieties include a high percentage of Bourbon and Typica, along with shade trees. This coffee is grown 100% organic.
